asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic development program
ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE is excited to announce that Victor Pataky will be joining the Greenville, SC based post-collegiate, Olympic development program. Pataky recently finished 26th overall in the USATF 10K Road Championships during the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, GA. Pataky had previously placed 24th in the 2017 USATF 10K Road Championships, also in Atlanta.
Victor is a 2016 graduate of Centre College in Kentucky, where he majored in Behavioral Neuroscience. Following graduation he has been working and coaching in St. Louis, MO. During that time he continued to train and race with some very successful performances, including winning the 2018 GO St. Louis Marathon. In that debut marathon, Victor ran an impressive 2:22:17.
"We are excited to have Victor join our program," stated Director/Coach Mike Caldwell. "He will fit in well with our current training group. He has competitive interests in both the 3000-meter steeplechase and the marathon, so he'll have training partners in either event that we decide to focus on, or both."
"I am extremely excited to be joining GTC-Elite. The coaches, team, and setup in Greenville makes for ideal conditions to continue chasing my dreams. I am elated to have the opportunity to work with a driven group in a wonderful, up-and-coming community," remarked Pataky.
GTC-ELITE was established in 2012 and produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles. The post-collegiate, Olympic development program is sponsored by ASICS, the 46-year-old Greenville Track Club, ScanSource, Joy Real Estate, generous individual contributors and partnerships with Performance Therapy, Carolina Spine and Rehab, Boston Bill Sunglasses, Roll Recovery products, FinalSurge (on-line training log), The ATI Running Academy, ElliptiGO, NormaTec Recovery Boots, Cocoa Elite recovery products and Synergy Performance (mental performance). The club is a proud member of both the Road Runners Club of America and the USATF.
