Carolyn eventually retired from competitive running following surgery (February 2017) and rehab for a torn labrum. During her extensive rehab, she continue to focus on her post-graduate education and successfully established her professional counseling career and new home in Greenville. She and her husband, Clay, welcomed their first child in 2021.
