asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic development program
ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE's Austin Steagall continues to lead the South Carolina Road Race Rankings as of October 6, 2018. He has been the first South Carolinian finisher in all six of the 2018 road races in which he has competed within the state. He won five of those outright and was second overall at the TD Bank Reedy River Run 10K. His win's include: the Greenville News Run Downtown 5K, the Peach Festival 5K, the Michelin Memorial 5K and the Governor's Cup Main Street Mile in Columbia. His most recent victory was at the Lake Murray Dam Run 10K on September 25, where he ran to a personal best of 30:08.
Second in the current ranking is former ASICS GTC-ELITE athlete Ricky Flynn, who is now dividing his focus between Triathlon and road racing. Steagall's teammates, Eddie Garcia and Zach Mains are ranked 7th and 8th overall despite only relocating to the state in late spring. The top eight ranked performers are all currently residing in Greenville.
GTC-ELITE was established in 2012 and produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles.
