ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE athletes Alison Parris and Mark Leininger both placed among the top three at the 11th Annual Jail Break 5K in Lexington, SC on Saturday morning. Parris ran 17:22 to place second behind winner Zipporah Chebet's 17:05. For her performance she earned $350 ($300 for her place and $50 for running under 18:00).
Leininger's time of 14:38 placed third behind Kenyan's Francis Kamir (14:22) and Geoffrey Ngetich (14:24). That earned Mark $200, with $150 for second and $50 for breaking 15:00. GTC-ELITE produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles and is sponsored by ASICS, the 45-year-old Greenville Track Club, Greenville Health System, ScanSource, Joy Real Estate, the Bare Minimum Track Club, generous individual contributors and partnerships with Performance Therapy, Carolina Spine and Rehab, Soleus Running Watches, Boston Bill Sunglasses, Roll Recovery, FinalSurge, The ATI Running Academy, ElliptiGO, NormaTec Recovery Boots and Cocoa Elite recovery products.
