asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic development program
Mark Leininger continues to improve his status among the USA's top road racers as he ran 48:56 to place 16th in the 2016 USA 10-Mile Championships in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN. The ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE athlete returned to the Twin Cities and improved from his 21st place, 49:24 performance last year.
On a crisp and cold Sunday morning, Leininger ran near the lead pack for the first half of the race, passing 5 miles in 24:23 (4:52.6 per mile pace). He then covered the second half, which has more hills, in 24:33. His final time resulted in an average mile pace of 4:53.6. Mark previously placed 26th at the USA 20K Championships in New Haven, CT in early September and then 6th at the Great Cow Harbor 10K in Northport, NY three weeks ago.
