Mark Leininger and Nicole DiMercurio of ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE both ran to top ten placings in Northport, NY in The Great Cow Harbor Run on Saturday morning. Leininger ran 30:47 over the demanding 10K course to place sixth overall and earn $600, while DiMercurio ran 35:27 to place 8th among the women and earned $400.
An estimated 4,500 people ran in the 38th annual race Saturday morning, attracting athletes from across the nation. The race combines small-town ambience with national-class competition. Set in Northport Village, a pre-revolutionary ship-building center, the course offers a series of rolling green hills, a panoramic view of the Long Island Sound, and a down hill finish, as well as a "world-class" post race party. It was the third consecutive year that ASICS GTC-ELITE athletes participated and placed among the top ten for both men and women.
