![]() Director Mike Caldwell announced that Wallace Campbell has been selected to train with and compete for the Greenville Track Club-ELITE program. Campbell has been one of the South Carolina Upstate's top post-collegiate runners while studying for a graduate degree at Clemson University. A native of Montgomery, AL, he graduated from Pennsylvania's Bucknell University with a degree in Economics. "The intent of our interview process focuses on selecting post-collegiate athletes that not only have met our qualifying standards, but show upward potential and demonstrate leadership qualities that will be a strength for our track club and the Greenville community," explained Caldwell. "We believe Wallace will be a great fit for our program as he trains to attain his and our goals in events from the 5,000 to ultimately the marathon." He recently completed his fall racing season, representing the Clemson Running Club, with a fine win over the half-marathon distance in Atlanta. The GTC-ELITE is a part of the Greenville Track Club, which is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this year. The ELITE group is sponsored by ASICS, a global leader in running footwear and apparel.
