asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic development program
Eddie Garcia led a trio of ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE athletes at the 49th annual Peachtree Road Race 10K in Atlanta, GA on July 4th. Garcia placed 25th overall in the event which was also the 2018 USATF 10K Road Championships. His time was 31:03 on the challenging route from Lenox Mall in Buckhead to Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta, with temperatures in the mid-70s and high humidity. He was followed by Austin Steagall, who placed 28th with a time of 31:13. Zach Mains was the third member of the team to finish and placed 39th with a time of 32:14.
The Peachtree Road Race is the world's largest timed 10K event and has approximately 60,000 finishers. It was first conducted by the Atlanta Track Club in 1970 and quickly became an Atlanta and regional tradition.
GTC-ELITE was established in 2012 and produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles.
