![]() ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE athlete Ricky Flynn ran 4:57 per mile to finish 7th with a time of 1:04:50 at the Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon in Duluth, MN on a cool and misty early Saturday morning. He earned $600 for his placing, but more importantly gained the "B" standard and qualified for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials marathon to be conducted in Los Angeles. Although he has a personal best of 1:03:44, the goal was to run under 1:05:00 to obtain the qualifying standard and allow him to now focus on gaining the "A" standard in a major fall marathon. The "A" standard provides travel expenses. Ricky placed 12th in the 2012 Olympic Trials in his first and only marathon, with a time of 2:13:41. GTC-ELITE is sponsored by ASICS, the Greenville Track Club, Performance Therapy, Greenville Health System's North Greenville Hospital, ScanSource, Soleus Running Watches, Boston Bill Sunglasses, The Kroc Center, Carolina Spine and Rehab, ElliptiGO, the Bare Minimum Track Club and generous individual contributors.
