asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic development program
Former University of Georgia distance runner Nicole DiMercurio, now a member of the ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE program, lowered her 1500-meter personal best at the Greenville Track Club's Open & Masters Track and Field meet. In what was planned as a tune-up for next week's Music City Distance Carnival, DiMercurio covered the distance in 4:28.68, almost exactly a 16-second improvement from the 4:44.63 time she ran in college. She was followed closely by her teammate Kimberly Ruck with a time of 4:32.74. Both women are scheduled to compete in the Invitational Women's 5,000 next week in Nashville.
GTC-ELITE is sponsored by ASICS, the 43-year old Greenville Track Club, Performance Therapy, Greenville Health System's North Greenville Hospital, ScanSource, Soleus Running Watches, Boston Bill Sunglasses, The TD Bank Foundation, The Kroc Center, Carolina Spine and Rehab, The Proaxis Running Academy, ElliptiGO, the Bare Minimum Track Club and generous individual contributors.
