asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic development program
![]() The ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE is proud to announce that former James Madison University cross country and track standout Alison Parris will be joining our post-collegiate, Olympic Development group. Alison graduated in 2011 after a collegiate career that included earning NCAA Southeast All Region honors in 2008, '09 and '10. She was the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) cross country champion and Athlete of the Year in 2010 and also won the Eastern College Athletic Conference harrier title that year. An individual qualifier for the 2009 NCAA XC Championships, she also qualified for the NCAA Preliminary Round at 5,000 meters in 2011 and was the CAA 5,000 meter champion. Alison had a goal of competing post collegiately following her graduation and was selected to attend the inaugural RunPro camp hosted by Team USA-Minnesota. Due to a lingering injury, she decided to take some time off to return to full health before pursuing a professional running career. Her running resume includes personal bests ranging from 2:10 over 800 meters to 16:27 for 5,000 meters. "I am happy to be joining this prestigious team, and am grateful for the opportunity. I look forward to developing as a post-collegiate runner under the guidance of Mike and Laura Caldwell. After my visit to Greenville, I knew I couldn’t ask for a better training environment. I am excited for what we can all accomplish together!" "We are very happy that Alison has decided to join our growing group of post-collegiate athletes," stated director Mike Caldwell. "Alison is a bright young woman with running goals that fit perfectly with our program's mission and objectives." GTC-ELITE is sponsored by ASICS, the Greenville Track Club, Performance Therapy, Greenville Health System's North Greenville Hospital, Soleus Running Watches, Boston Bill Sunglasses, ElliptiGO, the Bare Minimum Track Club and generous individual contributors.
