ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE will have four athletes and one of their coaches participate in the historic 50th edition of the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, GA on July 4th. Both Eddie Garcia and Victor Pataky will be returning from 25th and 26th place finishes in 2018 and will chase a very elite field of world-class runners. The prescribed pacing for the men's leaders, who will be viving to break the course record of 27:04 and earn the $50,000 bonus, is scheduled to be 4:17 per mile. The women's pace was announced to be a quick 4:55 per mile as they compete for a similar $50K bonus for setting a new course record. Joe Niemiec and Cristina McKnight will be running Peachtree for the first time. while coach Mike Caldwell will be running among the "Original 110" finishers who completed the initial running of the race in 1970. Mike finished 3rd in that first Peachtree. The race entries for 2019 were capped at 60,000 participants and is the largest road race in the world. GTC-ELITE was established in 2012. The program produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles and one qualifier for the 2019 Pam American Games Marathon in. Lima, Peru.
