asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic-development program
Three male and one female ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE athletes were among the top ten, respectively, in the most recent South Carolina Road Race Rankings. The rankings, which were through October 6, 2019, had Eduardo Garcia ranked second to overall leader James Quattlebaum, also of Greenville. Garcia's teammates Ryan Bugler and Joe Niemiec were ranked 7th and 8th. Garcia has not competed since he placed 12th in the Pan American Games marathon in Lima, Peru in late July.
In the women's rankings, Cristina McKnight is ranked second. She is ranked behind former Clemson standout and 2012 USA Olympic Trials qualifier (Steeplechase) Alyssa Bloomquist of Simpsonville.
Also, in the men's rankings ASICS GTC-ELITE's Zach Mains at 11th, Victor Pataky (13th) and Avery Martin 14th.
Niemiec is scheduled for his debut at the marathon distance in Chicago on Sunday and Pataky will be running the Columbus Marathon the following week.
GTC-ELITE was established in 2012. The program produced four qualifiers for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles and one qualifier/participant for the 2019 Pam American Games Marathon in. Lima, Peru.
