asics Greenville Track Club-ELITE - a post-collegiate, Olympic-development program
ASICS GTC-ELITE athlete Adam Freudenthal took an early lead in the Big Pumpkin 5K and ran to victory before a large crowd of runners and spectators in Greenville's annual Spinx Runfest. The former Winthrop University standout, who is in the midst of an intensive training block, ran 15:35 to best his nearest competition by over 20 seconds.
"I'd like to thank Brad McKay and the staff at Performance Therapy for all their work keeping me healthy these past few months," stated Freudenthal following the race. "This was a good opportunity to compete in Greenville and a great atmosphere provided by the efforts of the Greenville Track Club members and race director Ed Hughes. Finishing in Fluor Field is unique and was a lot of fun."
GTC-ELITE athlete, Adam Freudental, made his first cross country competition since joining the club a good one with a fifth place finish at the Blue Ridge Open 8K. The meet, which was conducted at State Farm Field's 3200' elevation in Boone, NC by Appalachian State University, drew a competitive field of collegiate and post-collegiate runners on a windy autumn afternoon.
Freudental ran with the leaders for much of the race, before taking a slight 10-meter lead with a little more than a kilometer remaining. However, he didn't have a kick in only his second event since turning professional the week before and finished fifth with a fine time of 24:44.
