![]() ASICS Greenville Track Club-ELITE's Chris Caldwell became only the 5th runner to break 55 minutes during the last decade in the hilly Green Valley Road Race 10 miler. The former Furman University runner, who has trained over the course countless times, ran 54:43 on a very cold, but sunny morning through the undulating, beautiful countryside north of Greenville, SC. It was the 38th edition of the event, which starts and finishes at Furman University and winds through the exclusive Green Valley neighborhood and the resurgent town of Travelers Rest. The course has been a traditional training route for Furman runners for over 45 years. GTC-ELITE is sponsored by ASICS, the 43-year old Greenville Track Club, Performance Therapy, Greenville Health System's North Greenville Hospital, ScanSource, Soleus Running Watches, Boston Bill Sunglasses, The TD Bank Foundation, The Kroc Center, Carolina Spine and Rehab, The Proaxis Running Academy, ElliptiGO, the Bare Minimum Track Club and generous individual contributors.
